Founder, Goodnessly

"When I removed additives from my son's diet, the difference in his behaviour was undeniable. Deciphering every label took hours. I built Goodnessly so no parent has to go through that alone."

Our story

Built by a mum who needed it to exist

Goodnessly started with one question: why is it so hard to know what's in the food we buy for our families? Our founder Cathy's personal journey became an app for families who want to know exactly what is in their food.

Independent scoring. Honest results.

Questions

Food scanner app FAQs

Quick answers about how Goodnessly scores food, checks additives and flags seed oils.

What is Goodnessly?

Goodnessly is a food scanner app. Scan a product's barcode to see a Goodness Score out of 100, a plain-English breakdown of every additive and a flag for seed oils.

How does the Goodness Score work?

Each product is scored out of 100: 60% nutrition, 30% additives and 10% organic ingredients. Scores fall into four bands: Excellent (75–100), Good (50–75), Poor (25–50) and Bad (0–25). Seed oils are shown alongside the score and do not change it.

Is Goodnessly free?

Goodnessly is free to download on iPhone and Android. Goodnessly Club is an optional paid upgrade that unlocks diet filters (gluten free, dairy free, keto, paleo, vegetarian and vegan), search for products free of additives, and detail on the oils in each product, including seed oils.

Can Goodnessly check food additives?

Yes. The additive directory rates 335+ additives green, amber or red and explains in plain English why each one is good or bad. Browse them any time on the Additives A–Z page.

Does Goodnessly check for seed oils?

Yes. Every product is checked for canola, sunflower, vegetable, soybean and rapeseed oil. Seed oils are informational and are not part of the score.

Does Goodnessly suggest healthier alternatives?

Yes. When a product scores poorly, the app suggests higher-scoring alternatives in the same category. Suggestions are based on scores, not paid placements.

Does Goodnessly verify organic claims?

Goodnessly highlights which products contain organic ingredients and rewards them in the score (10%). It does not test or verify a brand's own claims.
